Jay Harmon is an accomplished Musician, Singer, Composer & Arranger & Music Producer . On his CD, his first full-length release, Jay plays Sax, Keyboards, Drums, Electric Bass, as well as Lead & Background Vocals .Asked about his start in music,Jay says "In 1962, I started on bass first, then guitar, then  sax, then I started my first band,while learning the piano & the drums. We named the band 'The Dominations'(1967). I was in high school, Linden McKinley, in Columbus Ohio
   I was studying music at The Ohio State University when I started playing professionally on the sax with the popular  Columbus band, 'The Crowd Pleasers' in 1970. This evolved into a group called 'Blind Justice' ,(1973) then to 'Inner Rhythm Society' in 1976.
   I started seriously writing songs in 1977.
  My first commercial recording was on Cleveland Unlimited and was a regional hit 45 RPM entitled 'Now It's You & Me', this was in 1978. I then started to put all of my talents together.
   I started playing solo live in 1985, when the new digital technology became available to me.
  In 1988 I moved to Syracuse NY, and more opportunites to perform solo became available. Fans nick-named me 'The One-Man Band'. In 1994, I moved back to Ohio to take care of my parents, & finally, put out a CD ."
 Jay has shared the stage with Sly & The Family Stone, John Mayall, Parliament/Funkadelic, Eddie Kendricks,The O-Jays,The Bar-Kays, Gregg Allman, Roy Ayers ,    Charles Earland & Eddie Henderson.
  He has appeared solo at The Apollo Theater,Mikell's,The Sportsmans's Lounge ,all in NYC,also, at the very first Urban League Family Day in Syracuse NY (1990) .In the mid to late 90's, Jay performed, primarily as a solo artist, in Columbus Oh, moved to Cleveland Oh in 2000 , performing in local clubs while overseeing his parents medical care .He buried his parents, his primary musical inspirations, in 2003 & 2004. .
  Jay produced his own CD "JAY HARMON"(2006), and the latest CD from the Cleveland Oh gospel quartet, "THE SOUNDS OF SOUL"(2007).

  Jay  does shows in support of his CD, and is involved with youth choir and other projects in the Cleveland OH area. He is also the
musician for True Missionary Baptist Church, in Cleveland Ohio.
